Vegetables For Starters
- A
new 3-part vegetable course for beginners |

Course 4 Part 1 |

This
Three Part Course runs on 1st April, 6th May and 9th September,
and costs £110.
A new 3-part vegetable course for beginners or those who
lack confidence in their ability to grow high quality
vegetables.
In each workshop we will demonstrate clearly and simply
the tasks you should be doing at that time of the year
to achieve a productive vegetable plot.
You will be given an opportunity to practise these skills.
At the end of every session take away 5 sorts of plants
or seeds to plant in your own garden.
At the end of the course you will have a vegetable plot
full of produce and the ability to run a kitchen garden
successfully.
Vegetables For Starters I: Seeds, Sowing, Basic
Cultivation - 1st April
Learn how to choose which seeds to buy, how to sow them
inside or outside, and how to start caring for your soil.
Vegetables For Starters II: Tender Vegetables,
Supports, Pests and Diseases - 6th May
Learn how to start off plants that are frost-tender, how
to support taller crops and easy ways to keep your vegetables
pest- and disease-free.
Vegetables For Starters III: Harvesting, Rotation,
Composting, Saving Seed - 9th September
Learn when and how to harvest your crops. We will explain
the benefits of crop rotation and saving your own seed.
Most importantly of all, we will show you how to make
good compost which will make your soil even more productive.
Here at the Garden House we like to use organic methods
but will discuss other ways. |

growing in a small garden.
For those of you who wish to grow your own vegetables
but have limited space.
We show you how to grow fine vegetables even in a tiny
plot or patio and show how productive raised beds, the
‘square foot’ bed, containers and even hanging
baskets can be. |
