health of adding at least some raw food to your diet every
day.
You cannot get a fresher, more reliable source than produce
you grow yourself.
In this workshop the emphasis is on growing small quantities
of nutrient rich food for daily consumption. |

Having
completed Part II on May 6th, we move to Part III.
Vegetables For Starters III: Harvesting, Rotation,
Composting, Saving Seed.
Learn when and how to harvest your crops. We will explain
the benefits of crop rotation and saving your own seed.
Most importantly of all, we will show you how to make
good compost which will make your soil even more productive.

the garden.
We will demonstrate regular maintenance tasks –

Surely
you can’t take cuttings in winter? Oh, yes you can
and you don’t need a greenhouse either.
Hardwood cuttings are one of the easiest ways to propagate
many trees, shrubs – and roses.
Root cuttings enable you to propagate many plants that
can be tricky by other methods – and they’re
fun to do.
We will demonstrate how simply these cuttings can be made
and struck.
Take home your pots of potential new plants. |

Hazel
is considered to be the best material for making plant
supports but can you find a good supply?
You can now – attached to the Garden House is a
beautiful 2 acre cobnut platt.
We will demonstrate how to stake plants and how to make
simple structures. Then you go into the cobnut orchard
and cut as much material as you like – the amount
you take home is limited only by the size of your car! |
